Accessibility statement
This statement describes the accessibility status of the site: what was done, what is still missing and how you can contact us.
1. Our commitment
We want every person, including people with disabilities, to be able to use the site. We are working to meet Israeli Standard 5568 (based on WCAG 2.0) at level AA, as required by the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013, under the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998.
Important to know: we do not claim that the site fully meets the standard. No professional accessibility audit has been carried out to date, so this statement describes what we did and what we know is missing, and does not promise full compliance with the standard.
This statement refers to the public site, to the web app (the addresses that begin with /app/) and to the online check tool (the addresses that begin with /k/). The admin page is for service operators only. The desktop and phone apps are still in development, and their accessibility will be checked and published separately.
2. What we did
On the public pages of the site (the home page, the privacy policy, the terms of use, this statement and the cookie policy), the following adjustments were made:
- Every page declares its language and writing direction (on the Hebrew pages: Hebrew, right to left).
- The page structure is semantic: header, navigation, main content and footer. Headings are arranged in a hierarchy, without skipping levels.
- All actions can be operated by keyboard alone. At the top of every page there is a “Skip to content” link, and the focus outline is always visible.
- The text and background color pairs on the public pages were checked for a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1, in both the light and the dark theme. You can choose a light, dark or automatic (follows your system) theme with the switch at the top of the page.
- Every field and button has a label or an accessible name. Error messages in the waitlist form are linked to their field and are shown as text, not by color alone.
- The layout adapts to the screen size and to text enlargement in the browser.
- The site respects the operating system’s preference for reduced motion. No media plays automatically and nothing flashes.
- The illustration on the home page is a visual aid, and a text description is attached to it. No page has content that is conveyed by an image alone.
- The site does not use an external accessibility plugin. The adjustments were made in the site’s own code.
3. Known limitations
- No professional audit was carried out. The checks made so far are preliminary checks by the developers, such as checking the heading structure, contrast and keyboard navigation. The site has not yet been tested with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver or TalkBack, and has not been tested by users with disabilities.
- The check tool and the web app. The online tool (/k/) and the app (/app/) were built before the adjustments described here, and were tested less than the public site. An internal check found shortcomings in them, for example controls without a label, error and status messages that are not announced by a screen reader, and results tables that lack adjustments. The fix is in progress. No screen reader testing or professional audit has been carried out on them, and they should not be regarded as meeting the standard.
- The cookie notice. It is shown at the bottom of the screen and may hide part of the content until you make a choice. It does not trap the keyboard, and you can ignore it.
- Third-party sign-in screens. Signing in with Google, Apple or Microsoft takes place on screens operated by those companies, and their accessibility is their responsibility.
- Languages. The site is available in Hebrew, Arabic, English and Russian. The Hebrew version prevails, and the translations are drafts that have not yet been reviewed by native speakers.
We are planning a professional accessibility audit, and we will update this statement following it.
